Dreamscapes: Closing Reception

Dreamscapes:
This is a collection of paintings that were created over two and a half years. Half of this body of work is what one might call automatic-painting, where streams of consciousness are taken from the mind and colored on the canvas. These explore thoughts, dreams and experiences. The other half of this body of work depicts landscapes, masses of land, mountains, hillsides in the horizon, and cloud formations. They all come from the same palette of colors, but each develops its own viewpoint, a different story, a different world.

About the Artist:
Alexandra Ortiz has been painting for nine years. Alexandra has a Bachelor of Arts from California State University Bakersfield. She was a Curator for a gallery in Bakersfield for a year. Alexandra’s first solo art exhibit was titled Forbidden Forest which depicted whimsical, surreal forests. She has participated in many group-art shows in galleries around Kern County. She has also shown artwork in Los Angeles.
